<p> Michael Lombardi, lead contributor to Profit Confidential, believes that the homeownership rate will continue to drop in the coming years and that the ideas that the housing market has bottomed and that foreclosures are a thing of the past are simple fallacies.</p>

<p>“More people are deciding to rent instead of buy in the U.S. housing market,” says Lombardi.</p>

<p>In the article U.S. Housing Market Far From a Bottom, Lombardi outlines several reasons behind his thesis.</p>

<p>“Banks are not lending out to people, mortgages are hard to get,” says Lombardi. “Secondly, real disposable incomes are not rising at all for people to justify entering the housing market.” Lombardi believes the average American is not feeling wealthy; they feel they are just getting by. </p>

<p>“A third reason is that the record $  1.0 trillion in student loans will restrict many first-time home buyers from getting a mortgage, because they already have too much debt,” says Lombardi. </p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Another good reason according to Lombardi is that people are deciding to rent. “Like the stock market, after people have been burned or have family members and friends that have been burned by stocks, one tends to stay away from the stock market in general. The housing market is no different.”</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Lombardi also highlights that the foreclosures rate in the U.S. still remains very high. “Estimates for the number of homes in foreclosure are approximately 5.6 million,” says Lombardi. “Home foreclosures should continue to rise in 2012.”</p>

<p>Lombardi says this means that more empty homes will enter the housing market, further putting pressure on home prices.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>

<p> The British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) is joining the fight against skin cancer with their Sun Awareness Week from 30th April to 6th May 2012. <p> Now that winter is officially over, it’s time to begin shedding the layers of clothing that concealed our bodies during the cold winter months. For many, this is the time that bathing suit panic hits, and exercise programs are stepped up in an effort to shed weight and tone up.  </p>

<p>Diet and exercise work hand in hand and one will support the other tremendously. “You can’t out train a bad diet,” says Ms. Towers.  “To see the results you will do well to honor both of these principles.”</p>

<p>Ms. Towers offers the following diet tips for achieving weight loss success:  </p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>-Make conscious and reasonable choices that will become a lifestyle change instead of just a seasonal one.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>-Avoid sugars, refined flour, fried foods and alcohol as much as possible. </p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>-Be aware of hidden calories that lurk beneath the labels of “healthy” foods. For example, a “smoothie” can have as many calories as two Snickers bars.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>-Eat breakfast within an hour of awakening and eat smaller portions throughout the day to keep energy levels balanced.  This also keeps the metabolism in “active” mode, ensuring a higher rate of sustained burning.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>-Barbecuing is a healthy way to lose some of the extra calories that get added during other methods of cooking, providing the seasonings used are low in fat. For example, mustard and vinaigrette are healthier alternatives to a fried batter coating.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>-When choosing summer drinks, nothing is better than Mother Nature&#8217;s original soft drink. Water is best for rehydrating, has zero calories, and is thirst quenching. It’s okay to enjoy a chilled Margarita now and then, but be aware of the sugars, sodium and calories and enjoy in moderation. </p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>-Consider replacing sugary alcoholic drinks with wines that are lower in calories such as White Zinfandel (the lowest at 80 calories per glass), Chablis and Chardonnay.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Ms. Towers offers the following workout tips for achieving a toned beach body:</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>-All caloric burning begins and ends with cardio, but this doesn&#8217;t necessarily mean it has to be boring. Cardio can be a great source of enjoyment during the warmer months. Once it gets warm outside, you can skip the gym and stay in shape while enjoying the great outdoors. </p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>-Some great choices for cardio activity that can help achieve fitness goals include volleyball, bike riding, roller blading and walking/hiking.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>For those who want to lose weight NOW to get the perfect beach here are Ms. Tower’s three favorite forms of cardio that also encourage some strength training interaction.  She advises:  </p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>-Rowing: “Probably the best form of cardio in my opinion as it not only burns at a high rate, but it gives a nice little nudge to targeting areas like back, arms and makes your abs get recruited into some stabilization activity. Nothing is better than a strong core.”</p>

<p>-Stationary bike: “Another great form of cardio for heart rate elevation and at a heavier resistance. The stationary bike helps to work the quads, hamstrings and gluts out of their winter hibernation.”</p>

<p>-Treadmill: “Great form of exercise that is joint-friendly. The rubber track pad absorbs most of the shock and allows you to change the angle to incline hitting various areas of the legs and gluts.”</p>
